Manhan Bridge - 05/01/13 Pedestrian Bridge Installation

Easthampton Manhan Bridge - Pedestrian Bridge Installation 5-1-13

On Wednesday 5-1-13 the contractors working on the Manhan Bridge closed the section of Route 10 from 6am to approximately 3pm. The roughly 185 foot span was constructed in sections in the DPW yard over the last week or so. Today (05-01-13) the sections were connected together on the bridge and then two large cranes lifted the structure over the remaining wires and lowered into place.

This bridge will be used for pedestrians as well as a place to install temporary water, gas and cable & phone lines while the bridge is demolished.
